LA PRIMA COMUNIONE<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dio \u00e8 sempre buono.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I nostri bambini brillavano come stelle ieri, non solo per i loro abiti, ma anche per la grazia di Dio. Hanno ricevuto Ges\u00f9 nell\u2019Ostia Santa per la prima volta nella loro vita.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Poich\u00e9 la Prima Comunione si riceve generalmente verso i sette anni, \u00e8 opportuno che i patroni della Prima Comunione siano essi stessi giovani: Tarcisio era un accolito, o chierichetto di 12 anni e  imelda, una bambina di 11 anni.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La fonte primaria della storia di San Tarcisio si trova nell\u2019iscrizione che papa Damaso (366-384) fece apporre sulla tomba del martire bambino. Durante un periodo di persecuzioni della Chiesa, la storia racconta che Tarcisio, dopo la messa, portava la Comunione  ai cristiani incarcerati in attesa del martirio.  Un giorno, mentre portava loro la Comunione, si imbatt\u00e9 sulla Via Appia in un gruppo di ragazzi e uomini pagani che cominciarono a molestarlo e a picchiarlo. Mentre la folla inferocita lo picchiava, Tarcisio cadde sulle pietre della Via Appia a Roma, proteggendo l’Ostia sotto il suo corpo. La folla alla fine lo uccise. Quando hanno girato il suo corpo per scoprire cosa tenesse nascosto e stretto al suo petto, non hanno trovato nulla. Cos\u00ec la Santa Comunione era scomparsa senza essere profanata. I cristiani  seppellirono Tarcisio nella catacombe di San Callisto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Imelda Lambertini (1322 \u2013 12 maggio 1333) \u00e8 la patrona dei Primi Comunicanti. Al suo quinto compleanno desiderava ricevere la Santa Eucarestia, ma l\u2019usanza del tempo era che i bambini non la ricevessero fino all\u2019et\u00e0 di 14 anni.  A nove anni Imelda and\u00f2 a vivere con le monache domenicane in Val di Pietra, vicino Bologna.  Il 12 maggio 1333, veglia dell\u2019ascensione, mentre era inginocchiata in preghiera e secondo quanto riferito, la \u201cLuce dell\u2019Ostia\u201d fu vista sopra la sua testa dal sacrestano che and\u00f2 subito a chiamare il sacerdote affinch\u00e9 potesse vedere. Dopo questo miracolo, il sacerdote si \u00e8 sentito in dovere di ammetterla a ricevere l\u2019Eucarestia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Potreste aver sentito parlare di Napoleone Bonaparte, l\u2019 imperatore francese che conquist\u00f2 quasi tutta l\u2019Europa e desiderava conquistare il mondo intero.  Qualcuno gli domand\u00f2 quale fosse il giorno pi\u00f9 importante della sua vita e lui rispose che il giorno pi\u00f9 importante e memorabile della sua vita era quello della sua prima Santa Comunione!  Per ognuno di noi questo giorno dovrebbe rimanere il giorno pi\u00f9 felice e memorabile dela nostra vita. Il mio \u00e8 il 15-5-1983.  Cari bambini, non dimenticate mai questo giorno della vostra vita. Questo giorno \u00e8 davvero molto importante per te, allora vieni a Messa per ricevere Ges\u00f9 nella Santa Comunione il pi\u00f9 spesso possibile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Preghiamo perch\u00e9 possiate continuare a brillare come stelle. Dio vi benedica e la Nostra Amata Madre interceda per voi, insieme ai santi patroni Imelda e Tarcisio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

God is good all the time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our children shone, like stars, yesterday not only because of their outfits but also because of God\u2019s grace. They received Jesus in the Holy Host for the first time in their lives.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since First Holy Communion is typically received around second grade, it is appropriate that the patrons of First Holy Communicants are themselves young. Tarsicius was an acolyte, or altar boy and Imelda, the little girl, was 11 years. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The primary source for the story of St. Tarsicius is found in the inscription that Pope Damasus (366-384) had placed on the tomb of the boy martyr. During a time of persecution of the Church, it tells the story of Tarsicius. After Holy Mass, he took consecrated Hosts to imprisoned Christians awaiting martyrdom. One day as he was bringing the Communion he ran into a group of pagan boys and men who began to harass him. As the angry mob beat him Tarcisius fell on the stones of the Appian Way in Rome, shielding the Host beneath his body. The mob eventually killed him. When they rolled his body over to discover what he had been hiding, they found nothing. The Holy Host had vanished. Christians took his body and buried him in the catacomb of St. Callistus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Imelda Lambertini (1322 \u2013 May 12, 1333) is the patroness of First Communicants. On her fifth birthday, she requested to receive Holy Eucharist; however, the custom at the time was that children did not receive their First Holy Communion until age 14. At age nine, she went to live with the Dominican nuns at Val di pietra, near Bologna. On May 12, 1333, the day of the vigil of the Ascension, she knelt in prayer and the “Light of the Host” was reportedly witnessed above her head by the Sacristan, who then fetched the priest so he could see. After seeing this miracle, the priest felt compelled to admit her to receiving the Eucharist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You might have heard of Napoleon Bonaparte the French emperor who conquered most countries of Europe and wished to conquer the whole world. Somebody asked him a question. What is the most important day in your life?  He said, \u201cThe most important and the most memorable day of my life is my First Holy Communion Day.\u201d For each one of us, this day should remain the happiest and most memorable day of our life. Mine was 15\/5\/1983.  Children, you should never forget this day in your life. If this day is really so important for you then you must come to Mass and receive Jesus in the Holy Communion as often as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let us pray that they may continue to shine like stars. God bless you children and may Our Beloved Mother along with Sts Imelda and Tarsicius intercede for you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
